John Thew has over 35 years of experience working in the non-profit and for profit sectors. He is the former Executive Director of Aspen Film where he produced the Academy Award-qualifying short film festival Shortsfest, the acclaimed independent film festival Aspen Filmfest and Aspen’s annual Academy Screenings. Mr. Thew is the former Managing Director of Theatre Aspen and Theatre Latte Da, Director of Development of New York’s Tony Award-winning Second Stage Theatre, and Production Manager of the Emmy Award-winning PBS television series, Alive From Off Center. In addition to his work in the arts, Mr. Thew served as an executive for the international training and consulting firm AchieveGlobal (now Miller Heiman Group) where he worked with clients such as 3M, General Electric, Continental Airlines, Honeywell, ING, Lifetouch, ADC Telecommunications, and the Mayo Clinic in the areas of sales, leadership and customer service. In addition to his work with More Than a Single Story, Mr. Thew serves as Business Manager for the Boulder-based organization TGTHR working to combat youth homelessness.
